WEEK FIVE
Tonight's more personalized performances were off the chain, but can each star's personal style bring 'em out on stage? Find out what's cool as the competition heats up.
JOSHUA STEVENS
Oh no...even though Joshua's performance tonight was enough to make any mother proud, my dressed-to-impress star hit a sour note tonight. Hard to believe since he's got such a great array of pieces on that it almost could have worked.

DITCH IT! |
| A VESTED DEVELOPMENT This vest is like wild game on the highway--it's a hit or miss. It's such a signature piece in country clothing, but without the right layered pieces around it, it could come off hillbilly rather than a hit. |
|
| TRAIN WRECK TEXTURES There's a whole lot goin on here. With the grommets, brass buttons, graphics and studs on the t-shirt, and the buckle to boot, the look goes into overkill. Each piece, (t-shirt, vest, and even pants) is already a good place to start...next time dress more basic layers around it. |
|
| TOO SLICKED FOR STYLISH STEVENS Usually we can see Joshua pull off anything. I like that he tried to wear his hair differently for a change, but it seems that the outfit already being a ditch ends up taking the "do" down with it. Perhaps this sleek side of Stevens could have been paired with something more hip and dressier. He looks like he stepped right off of a porch and onto the stage. |
