CHECKING IN FROM THE NASHVILLE STAR TOUR!

Life has been a blast since May 2!

The morning after the Nashville Star finale, I was just getting comfortable with the fact that I was a member of RCA Records, when I found out that Buddy Cannon would be producing my first major label album. We immediately started listening to songs for the album, and RCA set me up with some awesome writing appointments, too.

Over the past month, I've gotten to write with David Lee Murphy, Bob Dipiero and Rivers Rutherford, Jace Everett, and Tim James, in addition to lots of other folks. We recorded 12 songs (11 of them will make the album), and I'm pretty excited about all of them.

At this point, the album is almost finished, and "Drinkin' Me Lonely" will be the first single.

On June 10, I got to make my first appearance at the Grand Ole Opry, which was one of my dreams and one of my grandfather's dreams for me. He was right there backstage with me, and it was a pretty emotional night for my entire family.

In addition, I was just invited back to play the Opry again in July. I've been going constantly, but my friends have all been very understanding. I'm looking forward to seeing lots of the folks who watched and voted every week while we are on the road this summer.
