NATIONAL SWEEPSTAKES-OFFICIAL RULESUpdated February 5, 2007. Please note that the date of the ACM Awards show is now May 15 instead of May 23.1. DURATION AND TERRITORY. This Sweepstakes will commence at 9:00 a.m. (EST) on Thursday, January 4, 2007 and end at 11:59 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, March 15, 2007 (the "Sweepstakes Period"). All entries shall become the sole property of Universal Television Networks ("UTN") and will not be returned. At the end of the Sweepstakes Period, one (1) winner will be selected to win the Grand Prize as set forth in Section 5 below. This Sweepstakes will be void where prohibited or restricted by law. UTN shall be the sponsor ("Sponsor") of this Sweepstakes and will fulfill all elements of the Prize set forth in Section 5 below. All Times in this Sweepstakes are in Eastern Standard Time.
2. ENTRY. To enter the "What Rocks in Vegas Rolls in Vegas National Sweepstakes" ("Sweepstakes"), beginning on January 4, 2007, an individual must visit UTN’s website (
usanetwork.com) and follow the instructions included therein.
All entries must contain the following information:
a) Entrant’s name;
b) Entrant’s daytime telephone number;
c) Entrant's home address;
d) Entrant’s e-mail address (if applicable); and
e) Entrant’s date of birth.
Only one on-line entry per person/email address per day will be accepted during the Sweepstakes Period. Multiple on-line entries from the same person and/or the same email address on the same day will be disqualified. Entries generated by a script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified. Neither UTN, Universal Studios, NBC Universal, Inc., their respective parent, subsidiaries and joint venture companies, and their respective advertising and promotion agencies nor their respective officers, directors, and employees (collectively, the “Other Entities”), shall be responsible for late, lost, misdirected, incomplete, or illegible entries; technical or software malfunctions; lost or unavailable network connections; damage to entrant’s computer systems as a result of entry in the Sweepstakes or downloading of any information necessary to participate in the Sweepstakes; failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, or delayed electronic communications, whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes; or by any human (or other) error which may occur in the processing of the entries or the administration of this Sweepstakes and Prizes; or printing or other errors. UTN reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or modify the Sweepstakes should any computer virus, malfunction or other cause beyond its control corrupt the administration, security or proper operation of the Sweepstakes. In the event of cancellation, Prizes will be awarded from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the event requiring cancellation. Notice of cancellation will be posted at www.usanetwork.com. Any attempt to deliberately damage the Sweepstakes or operation of the Sweepstakes is unlawful and subject to legal action by UTN which may seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. Entries that are garbled or unintelligible for any reason including, but not limited to, computer or network malfunction or congestion (including at UTN), are not eligible. By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to abide by all terms of the Official Rules applicable thereto and the decisions of UTN and agree to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error in these Official rules, or the Sweepstakes itself, and agree to be bound by these Official Rules.
3. ELIGIBILITY. An entrant must be 18 years of age or older as of January 4, 2007 and a legal resident of the Continental United States or the District of Columbia. Employees of UTN or any of the Other Entities, or of any of their respective parent or related companies, or of any of their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, or advertising and promotional agencies, and any members of the immediate families of such individuals, and any person living in the same household with such individuals (whether or not related), are not eligible to enter.
4. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION. The winner will be chosen randomly from all eligible entries in a drawing to be held on or about March 16, 2007 by USA Network. The first entry drawn will win the Grand Prize set forth in Section 5 below. The next ten (10) entries drawn will win the First Prize as set forth in Section 5. The next twenty (20) entries drawn will win the Second Prize as set forth in Section 5. If a dispute arises regarding who submitted an on-line entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the e-mail account as determined by UTN. All decisions by UTN regarding this Sweepstakes shall be final, binding and cannot be appealed. It is specifically understood that there is no purchase necessary to enter this Sweepstakes. All entries become the property of UTN and will not be acknowledged or returned. The winners will be notified by phone, email and/or mail within fourteen (14) business days after the drawing date. The Grand Prize winner will be required to return a completed, signed and notarized affidavit of eligibility and release of liability and, except where prohibited, a publicity release within five (5) days of such notification. Noncompliance within this time period, or the return of any prize notification as undeliverable for any reason, will result in disqualification and an alternate winner for that Prize will be selected. The odds of winning this Sweepstakes are indeterminate and depend upon the number of valid entries received. All Prizes will be awarded after total compliance with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules.
5. PRIZE. There will be one (1) Grand Prize winner, ten (10) First Prize winners, and twenty (20) Second Prize winners. The Grand Prize shall consist of a trip for the winner and one (1) guest to Las Vegas, Nevada, and shall include: roundtrip coach air transportation for winner and guest from the major airport near the winner's residence to Las Vegas, NV determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion; roundtrip ground transportation via limousine for winner and guest to and from the airport to the hotel in Las Vegas, NV; hotel accommodations for the winner and guest (one standard room, double occupancy) for two (2) nights at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino; two (2) tickets for the winner and guest to the Academy of Country Music Awards on
TUESDAY, MAY 15, 2007; two (2) passes for the winner and guest to VIP post-show entertainment; dinner and dancing for two (2) at Toby Keith’s, I Love This Bar & Grill, inclusive of one (1) three course dinner for two tax and tip included (2) and roundtrip transportation via taxi service; a choice of one of the following spa services: one (1) Swedish Massage, Body Scrub, or Custom Facial at MGM’s Grand Spa & Salon (all treatments are 50 minutes); and a choice of one (1) of the following activities: (a) Two (2) tickets to one (1) Las Vegas Show (show options are based on availability at time of travel. Ticket prices are not to exceed $175.00 per ticket), (b) One (1) 30-minute Helicopter Ride over the Las Vegas strip, or (c) One (1) round of golf, inclusive of clubs and cart rental at a popular Las Vegas golf course selected by Sponsor at its sole discretion; and $300 spending money for the winner only. The total approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $6,448.00. Ten (10) First Prize winners shall each receive one (1) Nashville Star Baseball Cap, one (1) Nashville Star Gray Unisex Logo T-Shirt, and one (1) $100.00 iTunes Gift Card. The approximate retail value of each First Place Prize is $142.00. Twenty (20) Second Prize winners shall each receive one (1) Nashville Star Cowboy Hat. The approximate retail value of each second prize is $40.00. The total approximate retail value of all Prizes is $8,668.00. In the event that the tickets to the ACM Awards are unavailable for any reason, the remaining elements of the Grand Prize shall constitute full satisfaction of the Prize obligation to Winner and no additional compensation will be awarded. Grand Prize Winner must travel between
MAY 14-16, 2007. If the Grand Prize cannot be accepted as stated, it will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Each Winner is solely responsible for all Federal, State (for consistency sake, you may want to use “state” or “State”), and local taxes on Prize, and for any ground transportation, meals, gratuities, travel upgrades, personal incidentals or any other expenses not specified herein. The value of the Grand Prize is determined by the Grand Prize donors and is final for all purposes. Certain blackout periods and travel restrictions may apply. Sponsor reserves the right to change fulfillment date options at any time. Grand Prize Winner’s travel guest must be the age of majority in his or her state of residency or Winner must be guest’s parent or legal guardian. If travel companion is a minor in his/her state of residence, minor’s parent/legal guardian must complete and return all releases on behalf of minor. All travel and hotel arrangements to be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor in its sole discretion, reserves the right to provide ground transportation in lieu of air transportation. All travel and hotel arrangements to be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Grand Prize Winner and guest must travel on the same itinerary. All travel and lodging will be at risk of Grand Prize Winner and guest. If the Grand Prize winner notification is returned as undeliverable, Winner is unable to travel on dates specified by Sponsor, Winner is ineligible or Winner declines the Grand Prize, then the Grand Prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected at random from all remaining eligible entries received. The Prize is neither transferable nor assignable and may not be exchanged for cash; however, UTN reserves the right to substitute a Prize of comparable or greater value in the event the Prize cannot be fulfilled.
6. CONDITIONS. By entering this Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees (a) to release and hold harmless UTN, NBC Universal, Inc., and the Other Entities, their respective parent and related companies, and any of their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, and advertising and promotional agencies, and the respective directors, shareholders and employees of the foregoing entities, from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from such entrant’s participation in this Sweepstakes and/or his or her acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a Prize, or any portion thereof; (b) if selected as the Grand Prize winner, to the posting of such entrant’s name on www.usanetwork.com and the use by UTN and any of the Other Entities of such name and photograph (if any) for publicity, promotional and advertising purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law, and, upon request, to the giving of consent, in writing, to such use. The use of such entrant’s name shall be subject to UTN’s privacy policy located at www.usanetwork.com/privacy. UTN reserves the right to select a new winner if it has any reason to suspect any technical corruption or any non-authorized human intervention by, or on behalf of, the initial winner. In the event more winner notifications are issued, or more winning prize claims are received, than the number of Prizes set forth in these Official Rules due to computer, printing, seeding, human or other error or problem, a random drawing will take place from all eligible prize claims for the Prize at issue to award the proper number of Prizes as set forth in these Official Rules. This Sweepstakes is void where prohibited or restricted by Federal, State, or local laws and is subject to all applicable Federal, State, and local laws.
The failure of Sponsor to comply with any provision of these Official Rules due to an act of God, hurricane, war, fire, riot, earthquake, terrorism, act of public enemies, actions of governmental authorities outside of the control of Sponsor (excepting compliance with applicable codes and regulations) or other force majeure event will not be considered a breach of these Official Rules.
7. WINNER’S LIST/OFFICIAL RULES. For the names of the Prize winners or a copy of the Official Rules, mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope to UTN, Attn: USA Network, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, 2111E-2, New York, NY 10112. Be sure to specify “What Rocks in Vegas Rolls in Vegas National Sweepstakes” on the outside of your envelope. Requests for the names of the Prize winners must be received by UTN by May 15, 2007. Requests for copies of the Official Rules must be received by UTN by March 12, 2007.
8. CONSTRUCTION. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules or the rights and obligations of any entrant, UTN and Other Entities shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York. In any action brought to enforce the obligation or right of any party hereunder they consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in any court of appropriate jurisdiction in New York County, New York The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision.
