FAN OF THE WEEK

FOR THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 13, 2006

Our second Nashville Star Fan of the Week normally goes by Patric, but he is best known on the Nashville Star message board as IronChefAtlanta. He too chose a favorite for each season, but apparently only two were worthy of the presidency. This is his entry...

Patric

I have been a Nashville Star Board Member since 15 April 2003, though I can never prove it because that board (the "Blue Board" as we old-timers affectionately refer to it) has since gone the way of the dodo... along with the second board (the "Red Board", though it was really more burgundy... or claret).

I was channel surfing one evening and came across that night's episode of Nashville Star purely by accident.  Or was it predestined?  I have never told anyone (until now, anyway) that I loved all the performers that night--though my ultimate favorite that season was the incomparable Brandon Silveira.  Immediately following the show that night, I joined the message board... and the rest is hysteria.

Brandon did not win that year, but it was not for lack of me trying.  I was surely his most rabid fan that season. BRANDON SILVEIRA FOR PRESIDENT!!!

For Season Two, I chose Mal Rodgers, but he was voted off a little too early for my taste, and I sat the rest of that season out.

Season Three--and Jayron Weaver--brought me back, and I haven't left.  I like to think it was my big mouth that got Jayron into the Top 4... but we all know it was the wicked combination of that baby face and that heavenly voice. JAYRON WEAVER FOR PRESIDENT!!!

Season Four had me providing fashion commentary on the board after each episode, while I cheered on Jared Ashley (although once I heard Chris Young sing "Drinkin' Me Lonely", I knew there was no amount of cheering I could do that would carry Jared to the top... oh, well...)  But Chris won, and deservedly so, and all of us on the Board were glad to see one of "our own" drive away in that fabulous Chevy Silverado.

I have not had the same luck as other board members in meeting the contestants; my job as a chef (hence my board name "IronChefAtlanta") keeps me on a short leash.  Hopefully, that will change this year when I travel to Nashville for the taping of the Season Five finale on March 1.

Until then, I will pick a contestant and declare their candidacy for the office of President while providing fashion report cards each week and general comic relief on the board, as I have since Season One... because what kind of world would it be without Nashville Star?  It's one of three shows on television that I actually stay home to watch (Battlestar Galactica and Ugly Betty are the others).

I am looking forward to another season of screams and dreams.  I am a huge fan of this show and am not afraid to say it!  Rock on, Nashville Star!

Think you deserve the honor of "Nashville Star Fan of the Week"?

Email Webmaster@USANetwork.com your credentials and tell us about your favorite contestant from the show. Include your name and a photo of yourself, and we may feature you right here on the official site!
