FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 25, 2008
My name is Rachael. I first got hooked on Monk when I saw my sister watching it. Since then, I have tuned into every new episode, and caught up with all the episodes I've missed. It has become my new favorite show.
I am a great candidate for the Monk Fan of the Week because I tune into every episode and enjoy every aspect of it. My favorite Monk phobia would have to be the phobia of milk, because I find it so incredibly odd. I think Tony does an AMAZING job playing Monk and really brings the character to life.
Some things that make me similar to Mr. Monk are the phobias and idiosyncrasies I have, including fear of spiders, flying, germs, and a few more. I also can't let my food touch, and when I noticed Mr. Monk has the same problem, I found it reassuring in a way that I'm not the only one. Even though Mr. Monk is a fictional character, there are people like him, and Tony does a great job showing the realistic characteristics of a Monk-like person.
The characters in the show are all so amazing, and I'm going to miss Dr. Kroger dearly. I can't wait to see how Mr. Monk will react to a new shrink. I was upset when Sharona left, but Natalie was a good replacement, although I do miss Sharona's quirky sassiness and sarcasm.
And I just have to say, I LOVE MONK!
