Hello, I would like to nominate my dad – Don, Sr. – as the Monk Fan of the Week!!
My
late father loved Monk! When he was 84 years old he developed cancer
and N.P.H., and I moved from Florida out to California to take care of
him 24/7. We used to watch Monk whenever it was on. He loved the sense
of humor the show carried. and the mystery-ish quality the story lines
had. He said it reminded him of ' "Murder, She Wrote." :)
My dad spent almost his whole life in the Air Force
– 42 years! He never complained, he never raised his voice to us, he
just loved us unconditionally. My dad was the very best father a girl
could ever have, want, need – anything.
The last week of his
life (June 2006), when he could not get out of bed, I would lay with
him all snuggled up as we watched all of our favorite episodes
together. My dad's laughter was one of the last things I heard from
him. I should thank you for that.
Enclosed is a picture of my daddy & I, a year almost to the date before he passed. He was a good man. Still is. :)
