FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 28, 2006
Our latest Monk Fan of the Week, Teresa, is a self-described "mega-Monk fan", and she's got the credentials to back it up. Read on and see if you don't agree:
My name is Teresa and I’m a mega-Monk fan. It’s more than an obsession; it’s a lifestyle. I spend most of my spare time working… no, make that playing on my fan website, The Monk Fun Page.
When I need a breath of fresh air, my Monk friend and photographer Seth and I go out for some location shooting. We live in San Francisco where a few Monk scenes are filmed and we’ve spent many weekends hunting down the locations, such as the exterior of Monk’s apartment used in many episodes, the Palace of Fine Arts from “Mr. Monk Goes to the Ball Game” and the Peter Macchiarini Steps seen in “Mr. Monk and the Big Reward.”
I also like to hobnob with my fellow fans at the USA Monk message board where I’ve been posting (on the old board and then the new) since Monk debuted.
I like everything about Monk: the delightfully funny and at the same time tenderly poignant writing, the splendid and truthful performances, the San Francisco locations and all the great people (fans, actors, writers and crew) who I’ve had the pleasure to meet virtually and in person.
You couldn’t call it a favorite, but I share one phobia with Monk and that’s Belonephobia, a fear of needles.
My favorite episode is “Mr. Monk and the Sleeping Suspect” and “Mr. Monk Gets Drunk” and “Mr. Monk Goes to the Asylum” and “Mr Monk and the Employee of the Month” and…. Who am I kidding? I love them all.
