Tom Scharpling serves as a writer and executive producer on the USA Network original series MONK.

Scharpling has written or co-written nineteen episodes over the first seven seasons, including Mr. Monk's 100th Case and Mr. Monk Fights City Hall.

He is also the host of the wildly popular comedy radio show The Best Show On WFMU, which is heard every Tuesday night.

In addition to writing for MONK, Scharpling is working on a variety of different feature and television projects, but is most excited about his debut album, Plastic and Air, a musical tribute to the sport of air hockey.
