STAR WATCH: CRISTIAN!

He'll soon appear as Mary Shannon's sorta-kinda boyfriend on In Plain Sight, but Cristián de la Fuente is far from cooling his heels: he's dancing his heart out on ABC's Dancing With the Stars with partner Cheryl Burke. Cristián is one of four stars left. Returning from a ruptured tendon in his bicep with a new determination, Cristián performed two flawless one-armed lifts in the tango and the mambo, and shot into the semifinals in first place! To quote Cristián: "No pain, no mirror ball trophy!"

  • ABOUT IN PLAIN SIGHT

USA Network's newest original series stars Mary McCormack (Private Parts and The West Wing) as Mary Shannon. Her friends and family think she's just a glorified courier, but she's actually a U.S. Marshal, working for the highly secretive Witness Protection Program. Her job is to help relocate federal witnesses.

Whether they're career criminals, or just people who had the misfortune to witness a crime, they all share one thing in common – somebody wants them dead. Co-starring Frederick Weller and Lesley Ann Warren.

  • WHAT DOES IN PLAIN SIGHT MEAN?

In Plain Sight's main character, Mary Shannon, is a U.S. Marshal attached to the Federal Witness Protection Program known as WITSEC It's her and her partner Marshall Mann's job (yes, he's a Marshal named "Marshall") to protect the witnesses and their families who have been relocated to the Albuquerque, New Mexico area.

    Protect them from whom?

From serious criminal types — often those involved in organized crime, drug trafficking, gangs or terrorist groups — who'd rather have the witnesses dead than testifying in court against them. In order to enter the program, witnesses must cut off all contact with everyone they know, change at least their last name and move to another city to begin an entirely new life. In essence, these people are hiding in plain sight.

Learn more about the Witness Protection Program on our WITSEC FAQ page.
