Kate Reed

Kate (Sarah Shahi) is a former attorney who, frustrated with the rigidity of the legal system, quit practicing law to pursue justice from a different angle: as a mediator.

Now a partner in the law firm founded by her late father, Kate is smart, passionate, and an expert in the art of alternative dispute resolution. Unfortunately, Kate's conflict resolution skills don't always translate to her personal life, and she frequently finds herself clashing with her partners at the firm, her not-quite-ex-husband, and even, from time to time, her clients.

But a few stepped-on toes are a small price to pay for justice, and no matter what Lauren, Ben, Justin, or the letter of the law might say, Kate will do whatever it takes to fight for what's right.
