But their profitable partnership curdled into bitter rivalry when Naomi ditched Terrence's boots-on-the-ground approach to start her own company focusing on Cyper-warfare, leaving the ex-Navy Seal Terrence scrambling to catch up.
Enter, and exit, Ian Mansfield, a young programmer in Terrence Brooks's own fledgling Cyber-warfare division who falls to his death from a six-story luxury apartment building. At first glance, it seems that Ian may just be an unfortunate casualty in an escalating war between rival companies. However, as Goren and Eames dig deeper they unearth a web of leaked government secrets, and the detectives soon learn that no one in this case is what they present themselves to be, least of all Ian.
