Det. Mike Logan
Known by most NYPD cops as a career cop with a short fuse, no one ever denies that Detective Mike Logan (Chris Noth) famously "always knows how to spot the crook in the room."
His hunches are legendary. He has what cops call "the golden gut."
Coming from a family history of abuse, Logan tends to make every case personal. But whether it's getting in someone's face in the cross-examination room or the local bar, Logan has a long track record of arrests and convictions that more than make up for his occasional questionably aggressive interrogation techniques.
After several years of exile in Staten Island for punching a state congressman, Detective Logan's temporary transfer to Major Case to assist Goren and Eames led to a permanent spot there three years ago.
With his current partner, Detective Megan Wheeler, temporarily away teaching American police procedures in Europe, Logan is now working with a new partner, Nola Falacci, who is a new challenge. Falacci's stubborn tendency to dig in her heels sometimes forces Logan to see himself in a new interesting light – the cooler head, the calmer partner.
This year will challenge Mike Logan with a milestone, an awkward new partnership and a reconciliation with his past.
