Washington
While much of "Covert Affairs" is set in and around Washington, D.C., principal photography for the show takes place in Toronto, Canada. And, just as the cast and crew go overseas to make episodes more authentic, the show has also traveled to D.C. several times over the course of the first two seasons.
- In Season 1, the crew shot B-roll of the city, as well as scenes of Annie throughout D.C. But perhaps the most iconic scene filmed in D.C. during the first season comes from "Houses of the Holy", where Piper was filmed walking away from the illuminated Capitol at night.
- In Season 2.0, both Piper and Chris Gorham were sent to D.C. to film the final scene of the summer season on the Washington Mall.
- Two episodes of Season 2.5 — "A Girl Like You", and "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?" featured Piper alongside guest stars (Oded Fehr as Eyal Lavin, Tony Curran as Kenneth Martin) at a number of iconic locations throughout the city, including the Watergate hotel, the Jefferson Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial.
