"Begin the Begin" EP 203/SEASON 2 — PUERTO RICO

After Ben was shot escaping Sri Lanka, he was airlifted to the nearest military medical facility — the U.S. Naval Hospital in Guam. But while Guam is a long way to go to film a few scenes, the show did send some cast and crew to another tropical locale — Puerto Rico — to stand in for Guam.

• While this may come as a surprise, the Puerto Rico shoot for "Begin the Begin" was actually the first opportunity for Piper to film outside of Canada or Washington, D.C.

   

• With the teaser serving as an opening to both the episode and the second season, going on location to Puerto Rico helped provide both a visually stunning locale to open with, as well as the perfect location (from a narrative standpoint) to see what happened to Ben after Sri Lanka.
