"The Outsiders" ep 206/season 2 — Belarus
"I know it's scary, but on the other side of that river is the Ukraine. We can contact the CIA station and get a flight home. I know you can do it." —Annie Walker
One of the most mysterious regions Annie Walker has ever visited — and not by choice. After completing an assignment to place surveillance cameras on the Poland-Belarus border, Annie and Reva (guest star Jaimie Alexander) are kidnapped by soldiers of the Soviet-like state, taking the two into a country that hasn't had a U.S. Ambassador since 2008.
- From a narrative standpoint, an episode like "The Outsiders" presented a unique challenge — how do you film an episode about an inaccessible country? In this case, Toronto was more than capable of providing the kinds of woodlands that could double for the Białowieża Forest.
- While the show didn't go overseas, the crew did "travel" to the set of another USA show — "Suits", which was used to double as the offices of Jai's job interview in Hamburg, Germany.
- Annie is known for her linguistic ability, but in "The Outsiders", she actually speaks two languages besides English — Russian (to the soldiers who captured her and Reva) and Belarusian (to the little girl at the farm).
