The Final Season: Mark Feuerstein
Mark Feuerstein on the final season of Royal Pains!
Relive some of your favorite Royal Pains moments, fashions, guest stars and more
While there doesn’t seem to be a medical emergency that Hank can’t “MacGuyver” his way out of, when it comes to his love life, he’s a bit hopeless. Here’s a recap of the women Hank has loved and lost (in some cases, pushed away) over seven seasons of Royal Pains. With a little luck, maybe the Hamptons’ most eligible bachelor won’t remain unlucky in love.
Nikki seemed to be more in love with Hank’s earning potential than his do-gooder nature: their engagement ended abruptly after Hank was blacklisted from hospital jobs in New York and she couldn’t have her dream wedding. When he encounters her years later, it seems like she hasn’t changed her stripes.
Hank and Hamptons local and hospital administrator Jill Casey had a thing for each other from the get-go, but for one reason or another, they had a hard time getting their relationship off the ground…
When they finally did, it was good for like a minute until wrenches flew at them from every direction, including Jill being offered two attractive jobs overseas. Ultimately, these two decided (rightly or wrongly) that they were better off as friends and Jill left the country to pursue her dream job.
While Jill was sorting out her feelings for her not-quite-ex-husband Charlie, Hank dated HankMed co-worker Dr. Emily Peck. While she could match Hank medical move for medical move, her questionable professional maneuvers and emotional unavailability eventually turned him off to her.
Hank had a steamy but short-lived affair with Boris’s Russian translator and former flame, Christina. But when Hank suspected her of going behind Boris’s back, he tipped off Boris, who fired her—a sure sign in Christina’s eyes of Hank’s lack of trust issues.
A matchmaker ambushed Hank with a blind date with pediatrician Dr. Harper Kubelick, who had a rule against dating other doctors because they couldn’t put their personal lives over their professional ones. After settling into a comfortable though not exactly passionate routine, Hank proved her right when he declined her invitation to her family reunion in favor of work.
Winnie, an old friend from Hank and Evan’s hometown who dated Hank right before he met and got engaged to Nikki, returned to make Evan and Paige’s wedding cake. Her presence stirred up painful memories…and a punch in the face she once gave him for messing with her heart.
Hank then had a passionate affair with Charlotte, an adventurous businesswoman he met in Monaco while traveling in Europe with Boris. Passion turned to love for Hank when she appeared in the Hamptons for a cutting-edge procedure to help her regain her eyesight. Hank got so caught up that he proposed after just a short time, only to have her turn him down.
Olympia bought a date with Hank for $100,000 during a charity auction at the Rare and Orphan Disease Lab fundraiser. While enjoying a romantic getaway to New York City, she tried to persuade him to consider a position at the World Health Organization. In the end, he chose his simple life in the Hamptons over a bigger stage…and Olympia.
Hank met divorced mom and OB nurse Jen while in the hospital to visit Evan and Paige, who had just found out that the pregnant teenager who was going to let them adopt her baby changed her mind. But Jen wasn’t in the market for a date right at the time…but can Hank change her mind?
