Boris returns home to Shadow Pond in the dark of night, prompted by Milos’ sudden disappearance. During a midnight meeting in the guest house, Evan discovers that the auction was never meant to happen. Worse, Evan says, Hank kept this from him and Paige, who is working tirelessly to prepare the event.

Milos suddenly appears in the last place they expected, throwing the Lawsons into a panic. They urge Boris to have Milos arrested, but Boris must know what his cousin is after before having him captured. So as the auction begins, a killer takes up residence at Shadow Pond, putting everyone at HankMed in danger.

Divya meets Bert Jones, an elderly gentleman who’s worried about his ailing wife Bea.  High school sweethearts, they reconnected on Facebook after decades apart. Their affection for one another is very obvious, and resonates with Divya, but the cause for Bea’s ongoing troubles isn’t quite as clear.

Production Notes

Burt & Bea’s garden was not pre-existing. It was built and “flowered” by the production crew.

Bert Jones is played by Robert Klein, a comedian and actor who has his own history with USA. He had his own late night talk show, Robert Klein Time, on the network from 1986 to 1988.

Despite it’s sunny appearance, the scene in which Paige meets Milos was shot in the pouring rain.  All camera angles that showed outwards into the courtyard had to be re-shot at a later date so as not to appear so rainy.

The script originally called for Evan to barrel into Paige and Milos right through the front door.  Instead, writer Jack Bernstein improvised the stunt the day of to have Evan run up and down the foyer stairwell before tripping and knocking over the pair (with stunt doubles, of course!).

Chalk another one up for crew member cameos! 2nd 2nd Assistant Director Emily can be seen seated next to Paige during the auction.

About Royal Pains

USA Network is proud to announce the return of the Hamptons' best doctor-on-demand, Hank Lawson (Mark Feuerstein), in Royal Pains.

Once a rising star in the New York City medical community, Hank found himself out of work, dumped by his fiancée and out of options after a dustup with some hospital honchos. Fed up with Hank's personal pity-party, his younger brother, Evan (Paulo Costanzo), convinced Hank to join him on a last-minute trip to the Hamptons for Memorial Day weekend. When the brothers crashed a party at the home of a Hamptons billionaire and a guest fell critically ill, Hank saved the day. His dramatic medical rescue drew attention from the crowd, and soon Hank's phone started ringing off the hook with patients wanting Hank to make house calls.

By the end of the weekend, HankMed was born. With Evan as the company's CFO and the whip-smart, ambitious Divya (Reshma Shetty) as Hank's physician's assistant, Hank became the Hamptons' new in-demand Doctor-for-Hire. News travels fast on the East End, especially when it's about a talented young doctor with MacGyver-like skills who makes house calls. But the rich and powerful aren't the only ones seeking out HankMed's services; there are plenty of less well-off locals who need his help, too, and he's more than happy to lend a hand.

But after a few idyllic summers in the Hamptons, there are big changes in store for HankMed this season. Hank returns from his travels abroad with Boris (Campbell Scott), but realizes coming home isn’t always as easy as it seems. Evan and Paige (Brooke D’Orsay) grow stronger in their marriage thanks to the help of an unconventional therapist. Divya must find a way to balance the challenges of being a single-mom with her job at HankMed. HankMed’s newest doctor, Jeremiah Sacani (Ben Shenkman) realizes that having Divya and her baby stay with him isn’t going to be as easy as he thought. And when a mysterious young woman shows up at the guesthouse at the beginning of summer, she changes Hank and Evan’s lives forever. So as another summer heats up in the Hamptons, this season promises to be anything but a walk on the beach!
