S1 Ep1 | Piloto | Scene 1
Video: We meet Teresa Mendoza, who is a badass ‘queenpin’ in the international drug trade. A future version of herself is narrating the story of young Teresa’s journey from a poor Mexican money-changer on the streets of Sinaloa to a rich, powerful woman in Dallas, TX.
S1 Ep1 | Piloto | Scene 2
Teresa’s life changes the day she meets Guero, a handsome, young drug dealer on the rise who whisks her away from her dangerous life on the streets. He is chivalrous and romantic and they fall deeply in love.
S1 Ep1 | Piloto | Scene 3
Eventually, Teresa and Guero build a life together and enjoy all of the luxuries that come with Guero’s dangerous-but-profitable livelihood. She becomes best friends with Brenda, another drug-dealer’s wife, and they enjoy the good life of shopping, gossip, and LOTS of cocaine.
S1 Ep1 | Piloto | Scene 4
One night, while attending a lavish Christmas party, Teresa overhears an argument between Epifanio and Camila Vargas -- the couple who head the drug empire. Epifanio tells Camila that he is running for governor and has to stay away from their business. Camila is furious and refuses to give up everything she’s built.
S1 Ep1 | Piloto | Scene 5
Video: Guero warns Teresa that he is in danger. He hands her a burner phone and tells her that if it ever rings, it means he is dead and that she needs to hide out at a safe-house. He also informs her that he has a notebook hidden in an apartment that she should take to Epifanio as leverage.
S1 Ep1 | Piloto | Scene 6
One day, the dreaded phone call comes. Guero is dead. Teresa grabs her getaway bag and makes a run for it. She stops at Brenda’s house and together, with Brenda’s son Tony, the three of them escape…
S1 Ep1 | Piloto | Scene 7
S1 Ep1 | Piloto | Scene 8
Teresa remembers what Guero told her to do in case he is killed -- take his special notebook to the infamous drug lord, Don Epifanio, in exchange for her life. But at her hiding spot, she runs into two deadly henchmen. One decides to rape her before he kills her, but she manages to shoot him. The other goon is Pote. He watches her run away.
S1 Ep1 | Piloto | Scene 9
Teresa meets up with Epifanio, but senses that something isn't right. She instructs him to stop the car, but when he refuses, Teresa shoots the driver and escapes. Eventually, she is captured and taken to Dallas, where, unbeknownst to Epifanio, Teresa is forced to work for his wife, Camila.
S1 Ep1 | Piloto | Scene 10
Meanwhile, Brenda hides out with Tony in Mexico until they have a plan.
S1 Ep2 | Cuarenta Minutos | Scene 1
Video: Teresa wakes up in Camila’s drug den, surrounded by volatile men and women. She witnesses a few of Camila’s men cut open a woman and try to salvage the remaining packets of cocaine in her that had originally dissolved and killed her. Teresa attempts to flee, but Camila’s men catch her. Camila then threatens to force Teresa into prostitution, but Teresa argues that instead she will fill the role of the woman who died, and become a drug mule herself.
S1 Ep2 | Cuarenta Minutos | Scene 2
Teresa swallows many packets of cocaine, one by one, and immediately takes a ride with James, Camila’s right-hand man, to the airport where she will deliver them. They arrive at the airport on time and although Teresa is visibly nervous, they pass the customs control without any problem. They swiftly get into a utility room where Teresa vomits all 24 packets out of her body. When finished, they leave the room and give the shipment to a man.
S1 Ep2 | Cuarenta Minutos | Scene 3
Camila meets with Teo, an executive in a major law firm. She wants him to help her move her business from Mexico to the United States. Her divorce from her husband is final, she says, “It’s more like a war.”
S1 Ep2 | Cuarenta Minutos | Scene 4
Video: Brenda and her son are still running away from Epifanio’s hit men, when an old friend of theirs, Oscar, shows up in a van. He puts them in the car and takes them to a safe place. Don Epifanio’s men later find Oscar and kill him in a dark forest after trying in vain to make him reveal Brenda’s whereabouts.
S1 Ep2 | Cuarenta Minutos | Scene 5
James meets with Camila and tells her Teresa is a brave and gutsy girl. James’ comments and Epifanio’s desperate interest in her make Camila suspect that Teresa may be more useful than she thought, so instead of getting rid of her, Camila will keep Teresa alive for the time being.
S1 Ep3 | Estrategia de Entrada | Scene 1
Teresa finally calls Brenda to tell her she’s in danger and Epifanio’s men could find her just by tracking down her phone. And that’s exactly what happens: Brenda sees her pursuers approach, so she sneaks away and steals a car to escape.
S1 Ep3 | Estrategia de Entrada | Scene 2
James does his best to get closer to Teresa. He advises her to be careful with Camila, who has a special interest in her. Camila has asked James to take Teresa to his next mission: to deliver a cocaine shipment to a buyer. While Teresa waits in the car during the delivery, she calls Brenda to tell her to do whatever it takes to escape from Mexico to Dallas.
S1 Ep3 | Estrategia de Entrada | Scene 3
Suddenly DEA agents open the car door violently and point their guns at Teresa. They want to know whom she works for. But once again, Teresa sees her future self, the Queen of the South, who tells her not to say anything. Suddenly, one of the alleged DEA agents gives Teresa a cellphone: it is Camila, who devised that fake operation to prove her loyalty. Teresa has passed the test.
S1 Ep3 | Estrategia de Entrada | Scene 4
Teresa and James reunite for the cocaine delivery. As they receive the money, Teresa has a hunch something is wrong, so she takes a closer look at the bills and discovers many of them are counterfeit. Immediately, the buyer realizes one of his assistants is responsible and that man will have to pay for his errors.
S1 Ep3 | Estrategia de Entrada | Scene 5
Meanwhile, Brenda and her son, Tony, find a way to escape from Mexico to the U.S. hidden in a bus. Brenda talks with Teresa on the phone and complains about all she has to go through to meet her.
S1 Ep4 | Lirio de los Valles | Scene 1
Video: As Teresa rises in Camila’s organization, James asks her to make a drug delivery by herself. When Teresa arrives for the delivery, a certain creep named Chris welcomes her. It’s a trap: Chris is there to steal the merchandise from Teresa. He also has tied a woman up in a room, but Teresa realizes it and stealthily helps her cut the rope with a knife. Once free, the other woman stabs Chris and shoots his partner.
S1 Ep4 | Lirio de los Valles | Scene 2
Epifanio meets with his henchman, Batman, who tells him he believes Teresa is with Camila. Batman arrives in Dallas to investigate and finds Teresa in her car where he then breaks the window and takes her into another vehicle. Suddenly, road patrol stops their car, but it is actually two men that work for Camila, and they have orders to take Teresa and Batman back to Camila.
S1 Ep4 | Lirio de los Valles | Scene 3
Video: Camila’s men tie Batman up and beat him. Camila tells Batman that Epifanio plans to get rid of him and the narco business once he becomes governor of Sinaloa. Camila advises Batman to join her team if he wants to survive. However, when Batman returns to Epifanio, beaten and dazed, he continues his loyalty to Epifanio and tells his boss “I found Teresa.”
S1 Ep4 | Lirio de los Valles | Scene 4
Meanwhile, Camila has an appointment with Teo in which she tells him her true plans: to take over Epifanio’s business. Camila will have to win allies among her estranged husband’s associates so she sends several Rolls Royce limousines as presents for them. The first one reaches its lucky recipient, who talks with Camila on the phone to get details of his alliance with her.
S1 Ep5 | Un Alma. Un Mapa. Dos Futuros. | Scene 1
Video: Teresa has reunited with Brenda in Dallas. She tells Brenda the truth -- that she now works for Camila Vargas, Epifanio’s wife. Brenda takes it very badly; she feels betrayed, but Teresa asks for her trust. “I should be dead, and I'm not,” she says. She’s right. Camila not only protects her but she also seems to have found someone to trust in Teresa.
S1 Ep5 | Un Alma. Un Mapa. Dos Futuros. | Scene 2
James asks Teresa to help him prepare the murder of one of Camila’s rivals, Eric Watson, a.k.a. Birdman, who works for the Jimenez cartel and keeps Camila from controlling the entire city of Dallas. Teresa gets in an elegant dress and sneaks into a party in Eric’s house, but James decides not to kill Eric just yet.
S1 Ep5 | Un Alma. Un Mapa. Dos Futuros. | Scene 3
Video: In Sinaloa, Epifanio meets with Cesar, who had an encounter with Camila in Dallas. Epifano’s plan for Camila’s demise is to stop sending her the drugs her business depends on. Immediately, Cesar makes a call to cancel a large shipment to Dallas.
S1 Ep5 | Un Alma. Un Mapa. Dos Futuros. | Scene 4
Video: While all this happens, Brenda is also struggling to survive. She runs into a cocaine dealer in the street and offers him a better way to sell the drugs. Together they go to a nightclub and Brenda ends up selling all the merchandise with a mixture of candor and charm.
S1 Ep6 | El Engaño como la Regla | Scene 1
Video: Because Epifanio’s plan is working, Allen, one of Camila’s customers, meets with her to ask about a cocaine shipment that never arrived. It gets worse: Eric, her direct competitor in Dallas, has approached Allen to offer him that he be his new drug provider.
S1 Ep6 | El Engaño como la Regla | Scene 2
Video: Camila orders Teresa to accompany James to receive a large shipment of cocaine from their Colombian supplier. They arrive at a parking garage, but what they don’t know is that Epifanio warned the D.E.A. about it. Indeed, D.E.A. agents appear in the building and a violent crossfire starts. The authorities kill several drug traffickers and seize the drugs, but James and Teresa escape.
S1 Ep6 | El Engaño como la Regla | Scene 3
Due to the shipment that never arrived and the other one seized by the DEA, Camila has accumulated a debt of $5 million. But one of her men suggests a possible solution: to give Teresa to Epifanio in exchange for that amount of money. Camila thinks about it. It's not a bad idea.
S1 Ep6 | El Engaño como la Regla | Scene 4
Video: Brenda has been running a small drug business, but this new occupation has made her neglect her son, Tony. Annoyed, he gets lost a whole day on the street, and refuses to return his mom’s calls. Fortunately, Teresa comes to smooth things over and makes mother and son reconcile.
S1 Ep7 | El Hombre Pájaro | Scene 1
Video: Camila doesn’t know what to do to counteract Epifanio’s plan of cutting her drug supply. Eric, a.k.a. Birdman, is taking some of Camila’s territory in Dallas with Epifanio’s consent, although she doesn’t know this. She also doesn’t know that Epifanio has contacted the D.E.A. to intercept another shipment of drugs he sent her.
S1 Ep7 | El Hombre Pájaro | Scene 2
Indeed, the D.E.A. confiscates a new shipment of drugs for Camila, and this time it’s Epifanio who calls her to inform her about it. He also tells her to investigate whether someone on her team is talking to the authorities. Camila interrogates Teresa to investigate. Fortunately, Teresa has an alibi: she went to get medicine for a sick girl.
S1 Ep7 | El Hombre Pájaro | Scene 3
Video: To settle some debts, Camila decides to use her savings, which are hidden in a cemetery headstone. James and Teresa retrieve the money, but as they return, thieves ambush and rob them, taking half the money: $2.5 million. James and his men manage to kill one of the thieves, and Teresa recognizes him as one of Birdman’s henchmen.
S1 Ep7 | El Hombre Pájaro | Scene 4
Video: To help with Camila’s debt, James proposes that Camila contact some friends of his in Miami who can sell them 25 kilos of cocaine. But Camila wants to fix things her way. She says they should steal the kilos of cocaine instead.
S1 Ep7 | El Hombre Pájaro | Scene 5
Video: Meanwhile, Brenda has her own problems. Despite Teresa’s plans to get her out of the country, she wants to continue selling drugs. In fact, she plans to start selling something more powerful: meth.
S1 Ep8 | Billete de Magia | Scene 1
James contacts his friends in Miami to buy (steal) 25 kilos of cocaine that could save Camila’s business. The men from Miami -- brothers John and Reggie, plus their bodyguard -- arrive in Dallas in a private jet to meet James. Camila’s men, James, and Teresa follow them to their hotel.
S1 Ep8 | Billete de Magia | Scene 2
Video: Teresa sneaks into a hotel room, points a gun at the maid in the room, and asks for her working clothes and the electronic key she uses to get into the hotel rooms. Teresa then goes into the narcos’ room and places a tracking chip on the suitcase of cocaine. When she returns to the room where she left the maid, Maria, she finds the woman trying to escape. Teresa takes pity and tells her not to be afraid; nothing will happen to her.
S1 Ep8 | Billete de Magia | Scene 3
Somewhere else in Dallas, Camila meets with Teo, the lawyer, and asks him to trick a colleague into counterfeiting some contracts she needs for her business. Teo refuses at first, but his ambition makes him give in.
S1 Ep8 | Billete de Magia | Scene 4
Video: John, Reggie, and James meet and exchange the cocaine for money, but the chip is on the case, so James tracks their car down. Minutes later, on the freeway, James and his men ambush them. Reggie and his bodyguard die in the crossfire. John locks eyes with James during the shooting and manages to sneak away. James calls Teresa and tells her to wait for John at the hotel and take care of him.
S1 Ep8 | Billete de Magia | Scene 5
Video: John comes to the hotel shortly after, covered in blood. He enters his room and right there is Teresa, waiting. She points a gun at him. She is so nervous. John tries to stun her with threats, and when he tries to escape, Teresa shoots twice and kills him. The image of that man lying dead on the floor will chase her for a long, long time.
S1 Ep9 | Coge Todo Lo Que Puede Llevar | Scene 1
Video: Teresa arrives at Maria’s home to tell her to escape to Mexico with her son. Maria agrees right in time, because James is already looking for her. He doesn’t find her at her apartment. He realizes the condominium has security cameras, so he forces the janitor to show him the latest videos. To his surprise, he sees Teresa and Maria leaving together.
S1 Ep9 | Coge Todo Lo Que Puede Llevar | Scene 2
Camila meets the Colombians to pay what she owes them, and to tell them something they didn’t expect to hear: she knows Epifanio was behind the sabotage of her business.
S1 Ep9 | Coge Todo Lo Que Puede Llevar | Scene 3
Video: Camila also tells Leo, the brother of the narcos from Miami that she robbed, that it was Birdman who killed his brothers. She knows this will convince Leo to kill Birdman. But Birdman shows up in Camila’s office with Leo’s teeth in his pocket. Leo is dead, but before he died he had confessed it was Camila who gave him Birdman’s name.
S1 Ep9 | Coge Todo Lo Que Puede Llevar | Scene 4
James calls Teresa to tell her he knows what she did, but he will help her if she gives him Maria. Teresa falters for a moment, as Maria and her son are about to get in an underground tunnel to cross the border to Mexico. Teresa makes up her mind and decides not to meet James’ request, so she lets Maria flee the country. Not only that: Teresa is going with her to Mexico.
S1 Ep10 | Esta ‘Cosa’ Que Es Nuestra | Scene 1
Teresa asks Camila to give her back her freedom. Killing that man in the hotel should be enough merit to let her go, but Camila does not agree. So Teresa improvises a plan “b.” She steals a pack of cocaine, which she will use to pay the lawyer in exchange for papers to flee the country. Minutes later, Teresa meets him, and he takes the drugs.
S1 Ep10 | Esta ‘Cosa’ Que Es Nuestra | Scene 2
Video: Brenda comes up with a way to get even more money: selling Guero’s notebook to the Jimenez cartel. The information it contains is worth thousands of dollars. So while Teresa is with the lawyer, Brenda visits Birdman to offer him the notebook. He is immediately interested in buying it.
S1 Ep10 | Esta ‘Cosa’ Que Es Nuestra | Scene 3
Video: While Brenda is inside Birdman’s house, James is outside with a rifle ready to kill him. And so he does. Birdman’s death will cause a bloody war between drug-trafficking factions. But Camila is prepared for that. Her men have dismantled their headquarters and taken everybody out of there to hide during the war.
S1 Ep10 | Esta ‘Cosa’ Que Es Nuestra | Scene 4
The Jimenez cartel leaders believe it was Epifanio who ordered the killing of Birdman, so their henchmen take revenge immediately, killing several of Epifanio’s men. All this couldn’t happen at a worse time. Epifanio Vargas is in the final stage of his campaign to become governor of Sinaloa, and the last thing he needs is bad press.
S1 Ep10 | Esta ‘Cosa’ Que Es Nuestra | Scene 5
Teresa reconnects with Brenda, who tells her about the murders she just witnessed. They have to flee, and Mexico is their only option. So they escape through the tunnel Teresa used days ago to cross the border. Brenda’s cousin is waiting for her at the end of the tunnel, and he takes Tony while his mother runs some errands with Teresa. The most important of them: decoding the contents of the notebook.
S1 Ep11 | Punto Sin Retorno | Scene 1
In Mexico, Teresa and Brenda follow coordinates next to the name “Limpiador” in the notebook to see what they find. The coordinates lead them to a tunnel filled with dead bodies. Suddenly, armed men arrive, take the women as prisoners, and lead them to see their boss: Limpiador.
S1 Ep11 | Punto Sin Retorno | Scene 2
Video: César gets a call from Camila and, to his surprise, she is in Mexico. They meet immediately to talk business and César warns her Epifanio could hit her where it really hurts: he could take their daughter, Isabella, away from her. But Camila thought of that first. She already sent one of her men to pick up the girl and keep her safe.
S1 Ep11 | Punto Sin Retorno | Scene 3
When they wake up, Brenda and Teresa are tied to a chair in front of Limpiador. He wants to kill them but he can’t, because if he does, Brenda’s family will take the notebook to the press and the FBI. Limpiador has no choice but to give them what they want: $250,000 for the information in the notebook.
S1 Ep11 | Punto Sin Retorno | Scene 4
Video: Camila has called a meeting with Epifanio’s closest associates, who are not happy with him. She offers them a better deal and they accept it. Meanwhile, Epifanio is doing everything in his power to clear his name. Elections are just one day away, and the war between cartels threatens to frustrate his political aspirations.
S1 Ep11 | Punto Sin Retorno | Scene 5
Teresa and Brenda are coming out of the house with the money, but Limpiador won’t let them go just like that. He takes Brenda by the neck, while one of his men opens fire against Teresa, who runs away. She gets in the car and Limpiador’s men go after her. They keep shooting. She drives so fast she loses control and crashes the car into the woods.
S1 Ep13 | Cicatriz | Scene 1
Limpiador’s men catch Teresa and put her in the trunk of a car. But when they release her, two of Epifanio’s men receive her. One of them is Pote; the other is Gato, the hoodlum Teresa shot in the face before escaping Mexico. Epifano arrives as well. Teresa’s notebook can cause problems to both the Vargas and Casillas cartels. They want to force her to reveal where it is, but she refuses to say a word.
S1 Ep13 | Cicatriz | Scene 2
Video: Camila meets with her new allies and former associates of Epifanio. They sit at a table and she tells them about her business when suddenly Epifanio appears. One of his men told him about the meeting and Epifanio intends to confront his wife and the other drug traffickers.
S1 Ep13 | Cicatriz | Scene 3
Video: Teresa breaks free and escapes Pote and Gato. Gato chases her, but she snatches his weapon and shoots him. Teresa then takes Pote at gunpoint and forces him to drive her to the Limpiador’s house where Brenda is being held. Along the way, Pote tells Teresa about how Epifanio plans to take down all of the narcos. Teresa calls Camila to tell her she could be Epifanio’s next victim. If she wants to live, Teresa says, she should meet her at the Limpiador’s house. Teresa has something Camila could be interested in: the notebook.
S1 Ep13 | Cicatriz | Scene 4
Video: Pote understands Teresa’s situation and offers to help. When they reach the Limpiador’s house, they kill a couple of his men, but it is too late. Teresa finds Brenda dead in the garage. When the Limpiador finally arrives, Teresa avenges her friend’s death by killing him with no mercy.
S1 Ep13 | Cicatriz | Scene 5
Video: Teresa is burying Brenda when Camila arrives asking for the notebook. But Teresa is no longer her prisoner, and it is she who will set the terms of an agreement between them. Little do they know there is an undercover law enforcement agent taking pictures of the meeting. When these photographs reach the D.E.A., an agent takes them to a secret witness, Guero Davila, to figure out who Teresa is. Guero is alive!
