Head Detective Carlton Lassiter would sooner arrest Shawn Spencer than follow any of his psychic "visions".

A straight-shooting, 10-year veteran of the Santa Barbara Police Department, Lassiter has worked his way to the top by conducting investigations cleanly, efficiently, and always by the book. This leaves little room for Shawn to intervene, and plenty of frustration when he inevitably does.

The youngest of four children, Omundson was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, and raised in Seattle where he joined The Seattle Children’s Theater when he was 12 years old. With acting as his main focus, Omundson interned at theaters throughout high school and spent the summer of his junior year in New York at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He also held the honor of Washington State Debate Champion in Dramatic Interpretation for two years.

Shortly after earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater from the University of Southern California, Omundson received the Jack Nicholson and James A. Doolittle awards for outstanding achievements in acting. His professional career began when Larry David, creator of “Seinfeld,” gave him his SAG card on an episode of the hit show.

Most recently seen opposite Emmy Award-winning actress Tyne Daly on the long-running CBS series “Judging Amy,” Omundson’s numerous television credits also include appearances on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” ”CSI: Miami,” “24” and “The O.C.” He has also had lead and recurring roles on “Jericho,” "Medicine Ball," "Luck of the Irish," "SeaQuest DSV," "Jack & Jill," "Fired Up," the international cult hit "Xena: Warrior Princess" and the critically-acclaimed “Nip/Tuck” and “Deadwood.”

Omundson’s film credits include “Down with Love,” ”Swordfish,” “House on Haunted Hill” and “Starship Troopers.” He recently filmed the feature “25 Hill,” which was directed by PSYCH’s own Corbin Bernsen.

Theater roles include turns as Iago in "Othello", Faustus in "Dr. Faustus", Valmont in "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" and Newman Noggs in "Nicholas Nickleby."

Omundson lives with his wife Allison and their family in Los Angeles.
