Pittman approaches Dani with an indecent proposal of sorts: he wants Dani to testify in front of the League that his soon-to-be ex-wife, Gabrielle, is mentally incompetent as to help discredit her as a co-owner of the Hawks, and in exchange, he'll make her IRS problems go away. Dani is even more shocked when Nico explains to her that Pittman is the one who's mentally unstable. Nico has been using the wiretap to spy on Pittman because he has been fearful that Pittman is going off the deep end as he has done in the past. With the League hearing fast approaching, Dani has to figure out how to stop Pittman from ruining his and Gabrielle's lives and losing the Hawks in one fell swoop.

Thanks to Matt, there's a surprising new lady in TK's life: Simone, a tiny yet powerful massage therapist, who keeps treading on dangerous ground with TK—the scar he got from the bullet wound. Even though they don't speak the same language, Simone may be just the right person to finally break down TK's emotional walls and get him to open up about the shooting before he completely ruins his pro-football career.

With the big topic of kids finally on the table (Matt wants them, Dani doesn't want more than she already has), it looks like the new couple has reached an impasse. But without even knowing that their mom and Matt are together, Ray Jay and Lindsay may be the ones who unwittingly provide an answer to their dilemma that neither Matt nor Dani ever considered.

About Necessary Roughness

Dr. Dani Santino (Callie Thorne) thought she had it all figured out: she had a beautiful home, a successful husband, two great teenaged kids, and a satisfying career as a psychotherapist. But when she caught her husband cheating, Dani's perfect world began to unravel, and she was forced to find a way to keep her family, her finances, and her sanity intact. Then a romantic encounter with Matt (Marc Blucas), the handsome trainer of the local pro football team, the New York Hawks, leads to the chance for Dani to demonstrate her special brand of "tough love" therapy. Before she can say "Hail Mary," Dani has taken on the team's unpredictable star wide receiver, Terrence "TK" King (Mehcad Brooks), as a patient and has become the most sought-after therapist for pro athletes and other high-profile personalities on Long Island. Even with the ups and downs of being a newly divorced single parent and being employed by a demanding organization with its very own "Fixer"—the mysterious Nico (Scott Cohen)—Dani begins to find her footing.

As football season ramps up once again, Dr. Dani has a whole new batch of issues to tackle, both personally and professionally. Now that she's more deeply invested in the Hawks players' welfare—and in a new relationship with Matt—the pressure is definitely on to hold it all together, all while trying to keep her kids on track. It's a whole new season...and a whole new set of crazy.
