Rami Malek Teases a Third Season of Mr. Robot (Plus 8 Other Cool Things We Learned)
The Envelope, the section of the Los Angeles Times dedicated to Hollywood awards and insider info, published an amazing profile of Mr. Robot star Rami Malek today. Here are some things about we learned from the piece that is a must-read for any Elliot fan.
He has only posted on Instagram twice -- and deleted both pictures. They were taken on the red carpet with Empire’s Taraji P. Henson and Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston, but Malek decided that sharing those perfectly “manicured” photos just wasn’t for him (and make sure to read his full diatribe on Instagram pictures -- it’s very Elliot).
Elliot’s hoodie belongs to Rami Malek. No, Malek didn’t steal the iconic black sweatshirt from the set of Mr. Robot. The actor brought it there in the first place!
There are some major differences between Rami and Elliot. For one thing, Rami -- as people who follow the press about him well know -- is not anti-social in the least.
He’s just as addicted to his phone as the rest of us. But he’s not happy about it!
Elliot makes him a better person. "When you constantly work on someone like Elliot to figure out how they tick,” Malek told The Envelope, “It can't help but allow you to ask the same personal questions.”
The season two premiere will include a Taxi Driver Easter egg. Pay attention. He’s talkin’ to you.
Showrunner Sam Esmail is already thinking about season three. He’s still shooting season two right now, but the Mr. Robot creator/director has a special role in mind for another amazing actor should there be a season three -- Michael Shannon.
Rami finally paid off his student loans! No need to hack Fannie Mae after all…
He bought a disguise for going out in public. Wearing it makes Rami feel “like an ass,” so until further notice, the black hoodie stays!
