Mr. Robot Book Signings Are Scheduled in NYC and Los Angeles
The official Mr. Robot companion book Red Wheelbarrow is on sale Nov. 1, and fans in the New York and Los Angeles metro areas have an opportunity to get their copies signed!
On Friday, Nov. 11, show creator and book co-author Sam Esmail will attend a signing at Barnes & Noble Union Square in New York City at 7 p.m. Then on Wednesday, Nov. 16, both Esmail and book co-author/show writer Courtney Looney will be signing copies at Barnes & Noble The Grove in Los Angeles at 7 p.m.
Red Wheelbarrow is the only tie-in book for USA Network's award-winning series Mr. Robot and is based on the journal Elliot is writing at the beginning of season_2.0. According to Esmail, the book takes place in between the first two seasons and is a brand-new story rendered in Elliot's own words.
"I am a huge fan of real interactive engagement with a show," Esmail told USA Network. "I think there’s this sort of new trend, especially with all these different forms of media and formats, where it’s not that you just want to know what happens next, but you want to know what happens before, you want to know what happens on that storyline, and around you… That’s more of a 360 view of the story, as opposed to this one, linear, 47-minute chunk that you watch every week."
The hardcover notebook also holds seven removable artifacts -- a ripped-out page, a newspaper clipping, a mysterious envelope, and more -- along with sketches throughout. Copies will be available for purchase at both signings.
