ABOUT THE MOVIE

5000 years ago, in an age before the time of the Egyptian pharaohs and pyramids, a ruthless warlord named Memnon (Steven Brand) is convinced that his destiny is to rule over all of the scattered peoples of the desert. Using the psychic powers of a sorceress, the beautiful Cassandra (Kelly Hu), to foretell his great victories, Memnon's army of barbarians is sweeping across the land, slaughtering or enslaving all of the tribes they encounter. Desperate to stop him, the leaders of the few remaining free tribes form an uneasy alliance and hire an assassin named Mathayus (The Rock, a.k.a. Dwayne Johnson) to kill Cassandra. But Mathayus is convinced that only a confrontation with Memnon himself can save his people, so rather than kill her, he kidnaps Cassandra and takes her deep into the desert. Now Mathayus must face off against Memnon in a climatic showdown that will determine once and for all who is truly destined to become The Scorpion King. Also starring Michael Clarke Duncan
