ABOUT THE MOVIE

Craig Jones (Ice Cube, who also wrote the screenplay) needs out of the 'hood for a while when his nemesis, neighborhood bully Deebo (Tommy "Tiny" Lister Jr.), escapes from county jail and marks Craig for revenge. Craig's father (John Witherspoon) decides to send his son to stay with his Uncle Elroy (Don "D.C." Curry), a lottery winner who bought a house in Rancho Cucamonga with his winnings. Craig expects the suburbs to be dull, but conflicts that make his South Central experiences look tame quickly arise: the neighbors are hostile thugs, his cousin Day-Day's (Mike Epps) girlfriend is out for blood and child support, and his uncle's house is about to be seized because of unpaid taxes. Now it's up to Craig and Day-Day to solve all of these problems before this Friday is over.
