Repo & Ani
Repo is just released from jail in
Los Angeles and about to spend his first
Christmas with his wife,
Ani, and their two young children. Repo returns home a changed man, ready to prove to his wife that he’s ready to focus on their family and leave his life of crime behind. Ani is skeptical, but hopes that his sentiments are true. This Christmas is very important for both of them. Having spent years either behind bars or on the road with his cohorts, Repo finds himself faced with unfamiliar family traditions.
Repo has been a member of a bike gang for years, but has never taken Ani for a ride. This year, Repo wants to surprise Ani with a gift she’ll never forget. He’s giving her a bike of her own so that they can ride together. This bike will be a symbol to Ani of the new life Repo wants to start with her.
In addition to learning how to decorate a Christmas tree for the first time with his family, Repo is working tirelessly trying to scrape together enough money for bike parts and doing his very best to finish the bike in time for Christmas morning.
This year all Ani really wants is peace with her family, but will Repo be able to pull off his own miracle and finish her bike in time?
REPO'S HOLIDAY FAVORITES
What is your favorite holiday memory? When the kids open their toys and presents. Last year they got a lot of toys and my daughter got skates. She plays with them all the time and I remember her eyes blowing up when she saw them.
Do you have a favorite holiday tradition?
Spending it with the family. Also, every year my wife picks up tamales. She goes at 5 a.m. to East L.A. to be the first one there in line.
What was the best gift you have given/received for Christmas?
My freedom.
Was this Christmas extra special for you?
Yes, because I spent it with my family and in church, and I have never done that. We have never gone to church for Christmas with Christian people, you know?
What does Christmas mean to you?
Love, and to give and family.
6. How do you see your future holiday seasons?
Every year it's gonna get, you know, more exciting. Maybe dress up as Santa Claus from now on ... make it more festive.
