GLOBETROTTING WITH CORBIN
Jaron and I often tell our friends that "Character Road Trip" is the most fun we've had since high school. The show allows us to be the goofy, silly dorks that we are; it affords us the opportunity to meet random, strange people; and with today's character, it now gives us the chance to rub shoulders with famous people!
Corbin Bernsen is a great actor, but strangely enough, that's not why we were there. He's got a new production company, but we weren't there for that either. We were there to see one of the largest collections of snow globes in the world. Sounds crazy, right?
If it were structured as a multiple-choice question, how many people would get it right?
Evan and Jaron went to Corbin Bernsen's office to:
A) Talk about L.A. Law.
B) Make him say, "Cut the crap Vaughn. Strike this mo***rf***er out."
C) Get a free lunch
D) See his snow globe collection
The correct answer would be all of the above, but since that wasn't a choice, you would have to choose the answer that "best fits what you're looking for." Not to digress, but its no wonder we're quickly becoming the dumbest country in the world. Our test givers tell us to choose the answer that's closest to what's right -- why can't they just give us a clean choice?
Nevermind. Point is Corbin collects snow globes. And not like 30 or 40. Like almost 7,000. He says it started back in the L.A. Law days. He got a few from fans and then he slowly realized that he was amassing a collection, kind of like us with hate mail, only he decided to go with it and start a collection. Now he's particular about which type he buys and even goes to flea markets to search for rare globes.
Having been a fan of Corbin's work for years, we were hoping he would be a cool guy in real life as well. He was. And even more so, he was a sport and played along with all of our shenanigans. Corbin is a leading man AND a character. And all characters are welcome. Leading men as well.
