ABOUT THE MOVIE

Bruce Nolan (Jim Carrey) enjoys modest fame as a television reporter in Buffalo, New York, and the love and attention of his beautiful girlfriend, Grace Connelly (Jennifer Aniston). But all is not right with Bruce, who feels slighted at work by his trivial "human interest" assignments and longs for the job of network anchor.

When that job goes to Bruce's rival Evan Baxter (Steve Carell), Bruce loses it and unleashes his frustration on God, ridiculing the job he does in running the world. The next day, God (Morgan Freeman) appears to Bruce as a human and offers him the opportunity to do the job for him, since Bruce seems so certain he can do it better.

Blessed with his awesome new powers, Bruce starts turning the world upside down and in his favor. Too bad all the happiness coming Bruce's way is beginning to make everyone around him miserable. Will God return to save the day from Bruce?
