BILL DUGAN

Bill Dugan's Bait Shop is a historic fixture in the quaint fishing town of Paradise Lake, Florida. Its shelves barely hold any merchandise and most of the shop's employees know more about soap operas and hangover remedies than they do fishing.

Bill, the owner, is something of a relic himself. He believes in the old school way of doing things: hard work and trusting your gut. This is especially true when it comes to fishing and business, but he's been floundering in both departments of late. The bait shop is $15,000 in the red and the man hasn't fished competitively in years.

The one thing he has reeled in is a loving family in his wife, Laura, and teenage son, Scott, but even this gets jeopardized when Bill chooses to hide his financial woes from them. Laura's father, Jack, doesn't help much, being a powerful business man who's always pushing Bill to give up the shop and come work for him.

Bill has two options: put Scott's college fund on black at a Vegas roulette table or enter The Pro Bass Masters tournament and win $50,000 to pay off his shop's mortgage.
