First Impressions, the new comedy competition show with the legendary Dana Carvey, will premiere on USA on Tuesday May 10 at 10:30/9:30C, and host Freddie Prinze Jr. gives you an inside look on everything you can expect. Here's what we learned:
He grew up around comedy. You may remember Freddie from all of his heartthrob movie roles over the years, but his father Freddie Prinze exposed him to the comedy world at a really young age. This will be his first hosting job, but since the material means so much to him, we know that Freddie will be a very fun host.
He can’t get over the talent. Every episode really impresses Freddie, and based on his background, he’s seen a lot of top-level comedy. Look out for the 19-year-old doing a Michael Douglas impression, as that’s a contestant who really surprised him.
Dana Carvey is a total rock star. This isn’t a shock. We already know that Dana is one of the funniest people to ever work in Hollywood. But Freddie explains that his warmth and mentorship help take this show to a whole new level.
The impressions are so spot-on that they can get creepy (in a good way). The comedians on this show are so insanely talented that they don’t just impersonate someone, but they totally channel that person. This means that we’re in for some really memorable acts.
