Carl Weathers has a long résumé full of colorful characters on the big and small screen – many of them admirable tough guys. All season we’ve watched Beau rise to the occasion on Colony, eventually finding his purpose again. But how would other Carl Weathers characters fair after the Arrival?
Can you picture Apollo Creed as a Redhat? Neither can we. Here's how we imagine Carl Weathers' other iconic roles would survive on the Bloc...
Character: Apollo Creed, championship boxer
Movie: Rocky, Rocky II, Rocky III and Rocky IV
Scenario: Apollo would become a top Resistance fighter, responsible for training up-and-coming fighters and giving them a chance to prove themselves. Eventually, he would be eclipsed by a better Resistance fighter, then train that fighter to take on the Raps. He would die a valiant death in battle, inspiring his protégés to take up arms and avenge him. Bonus: His son would grow up to be a great fighter and take on the Raps in his name, putting up more of a fight than anyone expected, only to then be overlooked for an Oscar nomination.
Character: Joe Clark, corrupt former police detective
TV Series: The Shield
Scenario: Joe Clark would immediately join the Transitional Authority to protect his own hide, but prove to be disloyal, untrustworthy, and needy. If he came to Will Bowman for help, Will would try to help him out of pity, but soon realize Joe is what he could turn into if he doesn’t stay true to his principles.
Character: “Carl Weathers,” Carl Weathers
TV Series: Arrested Development
Scenario: “Carl Weathers” would be cast in a sci-fi action drama on USA Network as a reluctant partner to a man struggling to keep his family together in the Occupation. He would go on to become a fan favorite, thanks to his sharp one-liners, solid reliability, and impressive collection of Hawaiian shirts.
Character: Dillon, CIA commando
Scenario: Dillon would lead a ragtag elite special forces team into the Bloc under false pretenses and then be exposed for knowing more than he told them. Instead of Will, he’d partner with an occasionally unintelligible Austrian with a taste for cigars and jungle body paint. He would go head to head with a Rap only to lose his arm in battle and die a gruesome death, his screams echoing throughout the Colony.
Character: Sgt. Jericho “Action” Jackson, police officer
Movie: Action Jackson
Scenario: Action Jackson would also be working for the Transitional Authority, but he would have a real problem with it, working to expose the Raps pulling the strings behind the scenes. He would enlist beautiful women in his quest to challenge the Hosts from the inside. The Hosts would eventually come after him, forcing him to go underground in the Bloc, then he would personally attack the Governor General and win. He would do all of this wearing a tuxedo.
Character: Chief Hampton Forbes, replacement police chief
TV Series: In the Heat of the Night
Scenario: Forbes would join the action late, also as part of the Transitional Authority law enforcement, taking over for one of the original members. He would focus on the problems in his small town Bloc, choosing to ignore problems of the big world beyond the Wall.
Character: Chubbs, golf instructor
Movie: Happy Gilmore
Scenario: With very little need for golf instructors in the Colony, especially those with only one arm, Chubbs would go to work for Katie at the Yonk, offering pep talks to Resistance fighters while always staying on the lookout for alligators, one day tragically falling into an open sewer grate when he believes he is being chased by one.
