This week, we learned that Will is more valuable to the T.A. than we ever realized, but why? Also, how do we get into that silent nightclub? Here are our big questions and observations about Colony, season 2, episode 10: “The Garden of Beasts.”
Revelation: Will Bowman Is Special
Okay, so we’ve thought all along that Will is special, but it turns out that key members of the invasion have him in mind for … something. When Broussard commandeered the Blackjacks’ SUV, he saw Will’s file come up on dossier screen. They were looking for him specifically! We also saw the drones scan Will’s face as he was climbing the Wall in episode 203. They then let him and Charlie go, but obliterated the others. Somebody needs him.
Burning Question: How Much Does Snyder Know?
Clearly, Alan Snyder has the inside scoop on some mysterious doings by the RAPs and/or the Transitional Authority. When he went to the Bowmans’ house this week, he already knew that there was something valuable about Will. What else does he know? Is this how he has managed to stick around through everything? Come to think of it, is this how the Bowmans have managed to stick around?
Revelation: Maddie Is a Pawn
It’s the end of the line for Maddie and Katie’s relationship. And for what? Burgess sent his own wife to the Factory and now Alcala wants Maddie out of the picture. Why should we assume Nolan would be loyal to anyone? Meanwhile, Maddie sold out her sister, which completely backfired when Katie and Will allowed themselves to be Blackjack bait, ambushing the very people sent to get them. Maddie, how’s that Kool-Aid you’re drinking taste now?
Burning Question: What Are Those Pods For?
This is our first glimpse of the Blackjacks in action and the process of actually capturing someone, filling them with green goo, and loading them into a pod, or “coffin,” like the ones Bram saw at the labor camp. We still don’t really know what’s happening to those people or what the RAPs have in store for them. But we LOVE the chase, especially when there are mini-guns involved.
Revelation: It’s Lawless Beyond the Wall
Thanks to Noa, the mysterious pilot who dropped into L.A. to retrieve the gauntlet last week, we know that life outside the bloc is “lawless and empty.” We also saw a glimpse of that lawlessness in the Santa Monica bloc where Will found Charlie, and again this week in the overgrown and desolate San Fernando bloc. What we haven’t seen yet are those “big drone walkers” Noa mentioned. Officially intrigued.
Burning Question: Is the Greatest Day a Ploy?
We’re still not sure what the deal is with the Greatest Day. This week, it appears to be all about family photo ops, and it does seem to be making people happy. In this world, that’s a good thing, right? Still, we’re not sure who’s behind it or what their intention is. Should we be concerned?
Revelation: Katie Is Doing Some Next-Level S---!
Last week, we witnessed Katie graduate from foot soldier to badass and now she’s a full-fledged action hero! We like this tactical version of Katie. No longer is she merely taking orders; she’s giving them and they’re working. Go, Katie! Show these guys what’s up!
Burning Question: What the Hell Did Bram Just Do?
Slow down, Bram. We get that you’re feeling sidelined when in fact you’re a warrior at heart. But the Redhand? Aren’t they kind of extreme, even for a Resistance movement? We’ve heard them compared to ISIS and we’ve witnessed how willing they are are to sacrifice themselves for the cause. Karen Brun is no joke and Bram’s eagerness to reject his family in order to be a part of something larger makes him the perfect candidate for radicalization.
Revelation: You Can Still Find Crazy Clubs in Los Angeles
Just because you’re under occupation doesn’t mean you can’t party it up. After all, this is L.A.! Bram visits a silent disco where the heart-thumping music is pumped through headphones and the drugs flow like … well, drugs. You may as well live like there’s no tomorrow since – let’s face it – around here, there might actually be no tomorrow!
