WHY SHEPARD IS CHARACTER APPROVED
Before you read this, go do a web search for Shepard Fairey. Back? Okay, now you know why he's Character Approved. The creator of Barack Obama's iconic HOPE image, and the mind behind the ubiquitous Obey Giant sticker campaign, Fairey has left an indelible mark on the face of America. Don't believe us? Just take a look at TIME magazine's 2008 Person of the Year cover. Born in South Carolina and currently residing in Los Angeles, Fairey's one of a kind style and keen eye for design, combined with his unique approach to spreading art among the masses, make him a true character. You can even find his designs on album covers from Led Zeppelin to the Black Eyed Peas, his own clothing line sold at Nordstrom's, and gallery walls nationwide, including the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian. All of that and he's only 38 years old. Fairey is undoubtedly an art world rockstar.
