MISSION
The Character Approved Awards honor the characters of the U.S.A. who are changing the face of American culture. Character Approved honorees are innovators in their field who influence our opinions, our style, and our view of the world. They surprise and inspire us with fresh ideas. They are celebrated by their peers. And they have an authentic style that's all their own.
SELECTION CRITERIA
In selecting the honorees, the following criteria was considered.
- Cultural Impact of Honoree: Each honoree must be changing the cultural landscape of his or her field through innovation, creativity and ingenuity.
- Legacy of Honoree: Each honoree must be doing something that will change the face of his or her industry for future generations, whether by breaking records or breaking the mold.
- Persona of Honoree: Each honoree must be a character in his or her own right, with a distinct voice, personality and style.
HONOREES
We have selected one honoree from the following seven categories:
WHAT THE HONOREES GET
Each honoree will be bestowed the official "Character" award, designed by renowned sculptor Bruce Gray, as well as a $10,000 honorarium that will be donated to the charity of his/her choice.
