Last week on Raw, GM Mike Adamle announced that John Cena's recently sustained herniated disk in his neck would prevent him from competing in the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble at Unforgiven and his replacement will be Rey Mysterio. Once again, Raw started and finished with a bang as Batista tried to exact revenge on Kane for his actions against Rey Mysterio. The Big Red Monster made good on a promise to hurt Batista by using a steel chair to brutalize The Animal. By the end, both competitors had punished one another with the unforgiving weapon.
Only a week after Chris Jericho punched HBK's wife in the mouth at SummerSlam, Shawn Michaels entered the ring to address both the first-ever Undisputed Champion and the WWE Universe. Putting aside his injuries and thoughts of retirement, Michaels challenged HBK to an Unsanctioned Match at Unforgiven. Bristling, the man formerly known as Y2J, accepted the challenge.
In other action... World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk defeated JBL... Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase took down Jerry "The King" Lawler & "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan and will square off against Cryme Tyme at Unforgiven... Beth Phoenix lost a non-title match against Kelly Kelly... Santino defended his gold against Kofi Kingston... Primo Colon, the younger brother of Carlito won his first match ever on Raw against Charlie "Charlito" Haas... and on a somber note, GM Mike Adamle announced that John Cena had sustained a herniated disk in his neck and would be out indefinitely.
